Power Outage
  • Update
    Update

Shortly after our last update, power was once again unavailable to locations on 8th Street while the utility company implemented a permanent fix. We apologize for the confusion.

As of 6:50pm, electrical service has been restored everywhere and all ~650 wireless access points across campus (including student cottages and apartments) have been confirmed operational.

If you're unable to connect to the network, please reboot your device. If problems persist, you can submit a CIT ticket.

Power has been restored to all Hope College locations and network/wireless service should now be avaialble.

If you're unable to connect to the network, please reboot your device. If problems persist, you can submit a CIT ticket.

  • Update
    Update

As of 5:35pm, several locations along 8th St and 9th St are still without network/wireless service due to the ongoing power outage. These include Parkview Apartments, Anderson-Werkman Center, Brownstone Apartments, Knickerbocker Theatre and the apartments at 74 E 8th.

Once power is restored, network/wireless should be available within ~10 minutes. If the power has been available for 15 minutes and you're still not connected, please reboot your device.

  • Identified
    Identified

At approximately 4:55pm, a portion of the City of Holland (including much of campus) experienced a power outage. The cause is not yet known.

Power appears to have been restored to most campus buildings, however the outage continues for some locations on 8th St including Anderson-Werkman, Brownstone Apartments, Knickerbocker Theatre and the apartments at 74 E 8th.

For locations where power is out, the campus network (including wireless) will not be available. The college's landline telephones may also be affected.

Once power is restored to a location, it will take ~10 minutes for wireless service to resume and for affected telephones to function. If your device does not connect to the wireless within 15 minutes, please reboot it.
